What’s more important: experience, skill, or cultural fit? 

They all matter, but we’re looking for a mindset-match most. Skills and experience help, but we believe in investing in people who are motivated, think differently, and are excited to make an impact. 

Is remote / hybrid work possible?

We are primarily an on-site team. Our work is hands-on and deeply collaborative – we build, test, sketch, argue, rethink, and prototype side-by-side in our studio.  

What languages do you speak?

We’re a very multicultural studio, but our ‘working languages’ are English and German in our HQ. In Shanghai, we speak Mandarin too. 

Do I need to show a portfolio?

If you’re applying for a design or creative role, then yes! We love to see how you work and think. Otherwise, a CV and cover letter is enough.  

What’s the interview process like? 

The first interview is likely to be online with the hiring manager and a future teammate. Then, we might set you a task and have a follow-up interview to see your skills in action. If you reach this stage, we’d invite you to our studio to meet the team in-person. 

We want you to come as you are. Ask us your questions, be open, let’s see if we’re a fit – both ways. 

How does relocation work?

Our HR team helps with visas (if needed), opening a bank account, registering health-insurance – all the logistical stuff. We have flexible hours, so you have time for getting your life on track.  

What happens to my personal data when I submit my application? 

We take your privacy seriously. When you apply, we collect your name, contact info, any documents you send, and the time of submission. Only those involved in hiring see it. For full info you can check our Privacy Statement. 

It was a ‘no’ this time. Can I reapply?

You’re welcome to reapply anytime; especially if you’ve grown your portfolio, gained new experience, or simply feel more confident in your work. 

What internships do you offer?

Loads! Our studio covers many creative fields: transportation design, product design, UI/UX, apparel, clay-modelling, photography, film, and more. To stay updated on open roles, check our current openings. 

Can I write my thesis with KISKA? 

If you’re already on a 6-month internship with us and your topic fits our current needs, then yes! You’re more than welcome to do your thesis with us. 

What projects do interns work on?

The exact same projects as us. You’ll always work on real-world client projects as an integrated part of the team, with opportunity to win awards and see your work launch on the market.   

Is there a possibility of full-time employment after my internship ends?

There can be! If you’ve excelled as an intern and there’s an open role that matches your skills, we’ll explore making it official. Many of our full-timers started as interns (including KISKA Partner, Julian!).

How long will it take to get hired?
