Built for the glance.

KTM | 8.8” TFT displays | Brand Boost

Over the last few years, our team has been working with KTM on a new TFT dashboard for their 2025 line-up. It’s now public, but this is the version of the story that doesn’t get told in press releases…

It’s sleek, yes. But the point was never just to impress from a standstill. This display is built for motion. For weather. For gloves. For instinct. For that quick glance around corners. The whole interface is designed to fade into the background until you need it, then deliver exactly what you’re looking for without fuss. In short, it puts the rider first.

This could only be done with hands-on prototyping and development. Our team asked: What would it take to make the bike’s interface feel as responsive as the bike itself? Not just in terms of speed or tech specs, but in the way it feels. In the way it speaks haptically.

Somewhere in that process, the idea of “ride modes” got a rethink too. Not just adjusting power, but adapting the bike’s entire behaviour (suspension, throttle, engine) at a moment’s notice. Riders get clear visuals, fluid animations, and a UI which adapts to your mode.

That led to the screen. Wide, vivid, and built to be calm, even when the ride isn’t. The UI had to cut through sunlight, motion blur, dust, and distraction. And it needed to feel KTM without needing to shout KTM. That meant stripping things back. Animations are seamless. Text is punchy and legible.

The new TFTs could be seen on new bikes in the next few years. But a few mock-ups snuck into EICMA 2024 for the keen-eyed visitor. Carefully tucked into the display bikes.

It took close collaboration between designers, developers, and test riders to get here. Lots of iterations. Lots of learning. But the result is a UI that feels sharp, responsive, and easy to trust on the move.
